Choosing a new school for your child is one of the most important decisions that you will make.

We offer wrap around care for the children with our Before and After School Club, Free Breakfast and Nursery Plus provision which is available from 7.45am to 5.30pm on school days and most training days/holidays.

Pre-School sessions are also offered by Wraparound Care Club. Please contact Mrs Brand, Manager directly on [email protected] or by telephoning 01978 346177.

You are able to use Childcare Offer Wales funding at Wraparound Care Club and they also accept any payments under tax-free childcare systems.

Children may start at Barkers Lane School Nursery in the September following their third birthday (must be aged 3 on the 31st August). Application for admission to Nursery is an online process operated by the Local Authority, forms are available from the first week of January on the Wrexham County Borough website and are to be returned to the Local Authority by the date specified in the pack information.

Reception class children start in the September following their fourth birthday (must be aged 4 on the 31st August). Application forms are available as above in October.

Admissions are handled by Wrexham CBC. The table below sets out the application periods. It is really important to try to meet the closing date deadline to have the best chance of your child being admitted to your first choice school.

Labelling Clothing

To help reunite misplaced clothing with the owner we ask that all items are marked with the name of your child. It makes it easier for us to return lost clothes, coats, shoes etc. If you wish to purchase high quality stick-in name labels we can recommend those provided by labelplanet.
