Important Information about Internet Messaging

Unfortunately over the last couple of weeks we have been informed of incidents which involve children using obscene and abusive language in instant messaging apps. Often these can be late on in the evening on weekdays beyond 9.30pm.
We appreciate many parents monitor devices closely,  remove them at bedtime and / or have clear rules around the use of games / messaging apps, however if you would like any advice / support, the NSPCC has a vast array of
information with parent / child views, advice about setting parental controls, how to start conversations and set family agreements, rules around image sharing, keeping personal information private and expert views about various apps, amongst many other things. The site really is worth a look if you haven’t done so before.
We really appreciate your support with this. Many thanks.

Can you help the School Council with their reverse advent calendar?

The School Council are keen to think of ways that we can help in our community in the Wrexham area. We love the idea of a ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ where each day we add an item rather than take something away. Each day we are going to add an item to our Reverse Advent calendar box and then donate the contents to a local foodbank. We would welcome donations of food stuff, colouring pencils, teddies, toiletries, baby clothes and games. The items do not have to be new and we don’t want anyone to go out spending money at what is already an expensive time of year, but maybe you have items at home that are in very good condition that could be reused or food in your cupboard that your family don’t eat anymore.
Thank you for all of your support. The School Council
