Learning at Home

Despite understanding why schools have been re-purposed in these unprecedented times, this period will be difficult for many children and adults, both those working from home with families and for those children of key workers who are coming into school.

Teachers at Barker’s Lane have provided a menu of activities to support your child/ren to continue practising and consolidating their learning at home. For the younger children, these have mainly been shared on Seesaw and for older children, in addition through their Hwb learning platform and Google Classroom. From week beginning 20th April until schools re-open fully to pupils, new updates will be provided by class teachers.

We have also set up two pages on our website, Foundation Phase (Nursery – Y2) and Key Stage 2 (Y3-6) with lots of other ideas of activities for your child/ren.

There is also a page on Safeguarding and Support in the Parents Section, this has important information about digital safety, mental health, safeguarding all children and support for domestic violence.

Welsh Government have produced guidance and support for parents on Hwb in the Parents / Carers section. This includes information about accessing learning, supporting and staying safe online.

Please also look out for updates on the school app and news section of the website. We will be sharing regular updates for families in this way.
